As a class teacher, I see the effects of this wonderful programme on a daily basis. The benefits of the Massage in Schools Programme are far reaching and will contribute considerably to the development of your school. The Massage in Schools programme (MISP) is a 10-15 minute daily peer massage on the head, back and arms, given by children to children.
To implement the program in your school takes approximately 6 weeks. Each class and their teacher are trained together for about half an hour each week, until the massage routine has been completely introduced. A staff INSET, before beginning the training is included. Fees will depend on the size of your school, average fee £1750.
Apollos - often required by children with physical complex needs for participation in the massage routine (£14 each) Pictorial reminder cards - brilliant to help children and teachers remember the massage routine (£10 a pack) I will order these for you and will discuss needs and requirements during your INSET. |
The Benefits of the MISP
For a fuller list of the benefits of MISP download this word file What teachers and pupils have to say about MISP The children look forward to their massage, they show interest and take it seriously. (Year 6 teacher) My class really enjoy it, especially SEN children; everybody can be easily included. (Year 2 teacher)
Although slightly sceptical of its benefits initially, I have been totally won over by the positive impact of MISP on both learning and behaviour. (Deputy Headteacher)
